College Quest: From Shocking Decisions to Dream Admission

I decided as a senior high school student on the verge of adulthood, that I was going start to pursue a career in psychology, which would set off a journey, the stakes are high, the pressure palpable, and the future seemed both thrilling and terrifying.

With a dream firmly in mind, the task at hand was to find the college that would nurture my passion for psychology. It wasn't about finding any college; it was about finding the right one. I don't expect to be able to be accepted by each college I apply to, but it's worth trying. In actuality, I have a college in mind; UST or the University of Santo Tomas seems promising. I already took their entrance test and I am hoping for the best. I think the results will be revealed in April. Again, I don't expect to pass, which is why I also applied to other colleges such as BSU. Don't be like me, who came unprepared, even though I gathered many learning materials to review. College entrance tests(CETs) are different depending on the school, but mostly there are Mental Ability, English or Language Proficiency, Math, and Science.

Technology is truly our friend since it helped not only in finding available and open college admissions but also in requirements that I need, Tips I have to keep in mind, and learning materials that might pop up in CETs. This file is an organized compilation of reviewers, practice tests, etc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dnojc-ISKUfXxLny9U0STk957xhN78PlRmgdHjM90gk/edit?usp=drivesdk.

If others can't help you apply, then help yourself. Back then, I had no idea what to do and where to start, my mom only reminded me of what I should do but I'm on my own in the process. Firstly, I researched the colleges, and their programs, and gathered information about their requirements, etc. Then, Prepare the needed materials for example the forms they provide that need to be filled up. Next, I have to gather application materials, which are mostly obtained from the school registrar such as a copy of my form 137, certificate of enrollment, and other materials required by the college.

I came to see that the experience was more than just a box to be checked off on my path to adulthood. It was a journey of self-awareness, perseverance, and daring to dream beyond the box. Hopefully, I can continue to have a happy journey to achieve my dream career in psychology and further fuel up my passion towards it.
